Notice of Intent to Sole Source - Standalone Cutter Wi-Fi Technical Demonstration

The proposed contract action is for commercial supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 6.302-1. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to provide these services. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action is solely within the discretion of the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action is supported by the attached approved justification.The U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) requires COMSATCOM Ku-Band HTS airtime service for two (2) Coast Guard ships as part of a limited technical demonstration. As part of this requirement, the USCG will not be purchasing equipment. The airtime service must be compatible with KVH TracPhone V7-HTS, Part # 01-0408-17CG, equipment that the Coast Guard currently owns and has identified for use in this technical demonstration. KVH TracPhone V7-HTS Antenna systems meet all requirements of this limited technical demonstration and the use of any other vendor’s airtime service with this KVH equipment would require product modification including new engineering work and testing which does not support the timeline of this urgent need.
