STATE OF ALASKA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND PUBLIC FACILITIES CENTRAL REGION, DESIGN & ENGINEERING SERVICES NOTICE OF REQUEST FOR PROPOSALSNew Avalanche Hazard Index (AHI) Report for AK DOT&PF RFP No. 25212059 The Department is seeking professional services to provide an expert review of snow avalanche areas of top concern along highways statewide. The goal is to determine current public safety risk as measured by a relative ranking of Avalanche Hazard Index (AHI). Top snow avalanche zones in southeast, central, and northern regions of Alaska are known to DOT&PF, but have not been rated for decades. A history of project changes and changing conditions requires a new assessment. A complete description of services is contained in the RFP Package. Estimated period for performance of the Agreement is approximately August 2021 to September 2022. Cost of these professional services is expected to be in the range of $250,000 to $500,000. The Request for Proposals (RFP) Package will be available June 10, 2021 and may be obtained in person from the DOT&PF plans room at 4111 Aviation Avenue in Anchorage, AK. Submittals must be received no later than July 1, 2021, prior to 4:00 p.m. prevailing time.
