PWD/PMFS/ Ash Tree Treatment Services Project Description :REQUIREMENTThe Forestry Branch of the City of Ottawa has a requirement for a qualified service provider to provide all labour, equipment, and materials for the provision of Ash Tree Treatment Services at various locations as part of its Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) management strategy, in accordance with the terms, conditions, and specifications of RFT No. 15223-95845-T01. The City is continuing with an injection program for selected ash trees on City property. This contract is part of a multi-year program for EAB control and ash tree protection. The work has been divided into two (2) separate districts, identified as Inside and Outside the Greenbelt. The injections are performed every two years; therefore, one treatment year is performed in one district, and the other district is treated the following year. The EAB Treatment Service Provider shall inject approximately 1382 trees, totaling approximately 83,155 cm in diameter at

5ml/cm. PERIOD OF CONTRACTThe period of contract shall be for two (2) seasons, from approximately 01 June 2023 to 15 August 2023 and 01 June 2024 to 15 August 2024. The City may, at its discretion, extend the period of contract for two (2) additional two- season periods (2025-2026 and 2027-2028) subject to satisfactory performance by the Contractor and provided the contract pricing, terms and conditions for the extended period are acceptable to the City and the Contractor. INQUIRIESAll inquiries regarding this RFT are to be directed to the Contracting Authority specified herein. Inquiries must be received in writing via MERX not later than Monday, 20 March 2023. Should the MERX system not accept the inquiry, bidders may contact the Contracting Authority by email. Both the questions and answers will be distributed to all potential bidders by way of written addendum, published in MERX, without identifying the source(s) of the inquiry. The City is not obligated to respond to an inquiry or question received after this time period has elapsed. The bidder shall not be entitled to rely on any response or interpretation received from the City unless that response or interpretation is provided by the Contracting Authority by way of addendum. TENDER CLOSING DATEAll tender submissions must be received no later than 3:00 P.M. local time on Tuesday, 28 March 2023.
