CITY OF WISCONSIN DELLS, WISCONSIN Chief of Police Position Opening The City of Wisconsin Dells is seeking applicants for its next Police Chief. The previous chief recently retired after serving more than 10 years in that position. Wisconsin Dells is known as a visitor and tourist destination. The City has a population of approximately 2,800 permanent residents but welcomes approximately 4+ million visitors annually to its many water parks and other tourist and meeting venues. The City is located within four different counties. The City is governed by a Mayor and Common Council form of government. Day-to-day operations are conducted by the City Administrator. The successful candidate will be an energetic, strategic, collaborative leader of high integrity with a deep, working knowledge of law enforcement strategies and approaches. The Dells next police chief must possess excellent decision making, verbal and written skills along with the ability to manage and lead the department’s

personnel in a positive, accountable, and results-oriented manner. A respectful leader, the Chief of Police will be one who has proven to be a team-oriented leader working well with all City staff, elected officials, and city administrator. The Department operates with a $2.3m budget. The salary range for the position is $95,000-$110,000 with the starting salary based on experience and qualifications.
