From senior leadership to front-line employees, there has been an increase of exhaustion and burnout over the past few years. Among other things, it has negatively impacted both employee retention and satisfaction. Many employees choose to leave their jobs as they become more and more burned out, leaving the organization to invest more time and money in the long run. Even when employees do not leave their jobs and decide to stay instead, they may not be fully engaged, find it difficult to lead themselves and others, and/or lack the ability to cope with challenges. This continuous stress begins to
affect their own health and wellbeing and if left unchecked, may eventually cause a trickledown effect, and adversely affect their ability to serve the public and provide the needed services to improve the health of the people they are supposed to be protecting. Individual and organizational resilience has been proven to help alleviate many of these stressors and it is an area with great potential for development among healthcare and public health providers. Because Maricopa County Department of Public Health (MCDPH) is committed to its employees they have created a Resilience Program funded through the Centers for Disease Control (CDC)’s Workforce Development Grant to address COVID-19 related burnout among Public Health staff within Maricopa County. This newly developed resilience program, entitled THRIVE, seeks to ensure resilience, preparedness, and general wellbeing (physical, mental, and spiritual) of staff. This endowment will fund various strategic initiatives to address the resilience of the MCDPH work force in various ways and with multiple approaches utilizing the Pillars of Resilience: Health, Connection, Tenacity, Reasoning, Vision, and Composure. MCDPH is seeking multiple Contractors to provide various services related to building and sustaining resiliency and other services related to well-being to its employees. All work assignments shall be on an “as needed” and “as requested” basis. MCDPH shall identify and prioritize all services to be provided as well as negotiate the individual work assignments from those Contractors issued a contract under this solicitation. For any work assignments that are anticipated to cost $10,000 or more, a Task Order shall be distributed to all approved Contractors prior to a purchase order being issued for the work assignment. For those work assignments under $10,000, MCDPH reserves the right to award to any qualified Contractor without the need for additional competition. Services may be requested in-person or virtual to ensure access by all MCDPH employees. Contractors may be asked to work with other Contractors to complete a single work assignment. MCDPH reserves the right to award to multiple Contractors and to add additional Contractors, at the County’s sole discretion, in cases where the currently listed Contractors are of an insufficient number or skill set to satisfy the County’s needs. MCDPH reserves the right to award to those Contractors most advantageous to the County. BID SUBMISSION: Vendor Bids must be submitted through PeriscopeS2G only.
