The Registrar appointed by the Minister of Advanced Education under the Skilled Trades and Apprenticeship Education Act, is responsible for administering the delivery of the classroom and on-the-job instruction component of apprenticeship education programs and as such, administers the provision of Classroom Instruction for the Hairstylist and Barber apprenticeship education programs. Apprentices in the Hairstylist program are required to complete two years of education (two 12-month periods), including a minimum of 1,450 hours of on-the-job training and 10 weeks of Classroom Instruction each year.
