Energy Efficiency and Clean Technology Training (PON 3981)

NYSERDA is seeking proposals for training initiatives focused on advancing skills and preparing workers for jobs in New York’s energy efficiency and clean technology industry. Funding is available for proposals that meet the requirements of any one or both of two categories: (1) Training for Existing Workers and Students in Formal Training Programs; (2) Career Pathways for New Workers/New Entrants in Clean Energy. The following technology areas are eligible: High-efficiency heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) and water heating; building electrification/heat pump technologies; insulation and air sealing; high-efficiency lighting and controls; building automation controls; smart grid and energy storage; electric vehicles and charging stations; as well as large-scale, land-based renewable energy generation that is actively supported through NY’s Clean Energy Standard. Total funding for this solicitation is $3.9 million, distributed over the course of multiple rounds. It is anticipated that approximately $2.2 million will be reserved for training activities that support building electrification. Additional funds may be added at NYSERDA’s discretion, if available.
