Engineering Services-Pepperell Street Watermain Upgrades Project Description :The St. Peter’s, Samsonville and Area Water Utility (Water Utility) is seeking proposals for the provision of Engineering Services for upgrading a section of watermain. The successful bidder will create all necessary engineered drawings, construction cost estimates, construction tender documents, assist Water Utility through bidding/negotiation phase and construction phase, up to an including commissioning of infrastructure. Project Information The Water Utility is upgrading an approximately 755m section of 6” asbestos cement watermain to a 16” ductile iron watermain. The section to be upgraded is on Pepperell Street in St. Peter’s, the majority of the watermain on Pepperell Street was upgraded with the creation of the St. Peter’s, Samsonville and Area Water Utility in 2007/2008. The remaining section of watermain on Pepperell Street is 55+ years of age and is beginning to break down, with more frequent repairs being required over the past couple of years. This upgrade will remove a considerable amount of aging asbestos cement watermain from the Water Utility’s distribution system. The increase in the size of the watermain is the next step to achieve proper fire flows in this area, as the 6” pipe does not have capacity for proper fire
