←Sierra SPR-24- 170815927 College Scheduler → Force Platform System- 171049733 Posted April 26, 2023in Sole Source. Notice Number:171049733 Date Posted:4/26/2023 Comments Due:5/3/2023 at 12:00 PMcurrent Mountain Time. The Utah Procurement Code provides that a procurement may be made without competition when the University determines that there is only one source that can reasonably meet the University’s need for the required supply or service, as described in Utah Code Ann. § 63G-6a-802. The Purchasing Department has received the following request for sole source procurement: Product and/or Service to be purchased:force platform system Sole Source Supplier:AMTI Inc Earliest Proposed Purchase Date:5/3/2023 Buyer Name:Anthony Ferrara Sole Source Justification: Currently we use AMTI force plates in the majority of our labs (Motion Capture Core Facility, HPEB; Ergonomics Lab, MEB; Robotics Lab, MEK; and they will be going in the Rehab Hospital Research Lab soon). To be able to accurately
use other data from other labs and share lab spaces it is important to have the same equipment. Furthermore, this order will be replacing some of the existing plates in the HPER lab so it is important they are the same brand. Lastly, the new construction was based on the size of these plates and to get different plates would require additional construction costs including additional concrete work. A cost benefit analysis demonstrates that the estimated transitional costs are unreasonable or cost-prohibitive.
