NAVSEA - NUWC Division, Keyport has a requirement for the following renovation. In Building 82 high bay there is a pit that is no longer in use and requires filling. Within the pit there is a utility trench that needs to be blocked so that the fill does not flow from the pit into the utility trench, and then the entire floor within the maintenance area where the pit has been filled, needs to have an epoxy coating applied.The Contractor shall provide labor, materials, and equipment, as required, to accomplish the following work in accordance with the statements herein: the contractor to remove the existing steel plates over the pit. Fill the pit with Controlled Density Fill (CDF) also known as “flowable fill” and place a 6 inch concrete cap over the pit. This pit is a box out in the concrete floor with concrete floor and walls. The pit is connected to the utility trench running inside the building that still houses some utilities. This trench will not be filled in. A removable block will separate the pit from the utility
