Community Wildfire Resiliency Plan

The Regional District of Kootenay Boundary (RDKB) is seeking proposals from experienced and qualified companies/consultants for the development of our Community Wildfire Resiliency Plans for six of our eight municipalities in the Regional District of Kootenay Boundary. The six municipalities include the Village of Fruitvale, the Village of Montrose, the City of Trail, the Village of Warfield, the City of Grand Forks, and the City of Greenwood in accordance with the CWRP 2022 template and guidance document for our regional FireSmart program.The RDKB Community Wildfire Resiliency Plan (CWRP) project includes the development of new Regional Community Wildfire Resiliency Plans (CWRP). Funding for the RDKB CWRP is being provided via the Union of BC Municipalities (UBCM) Community Resiliency Investment (CRI) Program. The goal of the new CWRP is to help our communities develop a comprehensive, and science-based approach toward wildfire risk reduction that reflects local priorities and provincial goals for prevention and mitigation by ensuring that all seven FireSmart BC disciplines are well-represented in the resiliency planning process.
