Personal Services Contractor: Regional Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa (South Africa)

The U.S. Trade and Development Agency connects America’s private sector to infrastructure projects in developing and middle-income countries. USTDA accomplishes its mission by funding feasibility studies, technical assistance and pilot projects that integrate the expertise and innovation of American companies. The Agency also connects overseas buyers with U.S. sellers through its reverse trade missions, industry conferences and workshops. Unique among federal agencies, USTDA is mandated to promote the participation of U.S. industry in infrastructure projects at the critical early stages when design choices and technology options are being defined.USTDA is divided into five regions, each led by a Regional Director. target="_blank">www.ustda.gov.The Sub-Saharan Africa Regional Team focuses on identifying projects for USTDA funding consideration that would promote U.S. commercial interests across Sub-Saharan Africa.  While USTDA projects span a variety of sectors, the Agency’s program in the Sub-Saharan Africa region focuses on the energy, transportation, telecommunications, agribusiness and health sectors. The Sub-Saharan Africa Regional Team is also engaged in multiple U.S. Government Initiatives, including Power and Prosper Africa. Through this solicitation, USTDA is seeking to fill the Regional Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa, based in Accra, Ghana Personal Services Contractor (PSC) (herein after “PSC”) position.  The PSC is USTDA’s senior resident representative in Accra, Ghana and is responsible for directing and promoting USTDA’s program in the Sub-Saharan Africa region, with a focus on West Africa.  The PSC represents USTDA at the U.S. Embassy in Accra and works directly with other U.S. Government representatives, African public and private sector representatives, the U.S. private sector, and financing institutions.  Key responsibilities include:  representing the agency at USTDA-sponsored and other events throughout West Africa, such as conferences and workshops; coordinating USTDA’s program among the USG interagency at the U.S. Embassy and Consulates in West Africa; working with African public and private sector as well as U.S. private sector representatives to develop and implement activities with USTDA funding.Please see the attached combined synopsis/solicitation document for additional information.
