The STRONG STAR Consortium is a multi-institutional, multidisciplinary research group of over 150 collaborating national scientists and clinicians funded by the Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs to develop and evaluate approaches for the prevention and treatment of combat-related PTSD and related mental health problems among active-duty military personnel and veterans. The STRONG STAR Training Initiative is

led by Katy Dondanville, PsyD, ABPP and Brooke Fina, LCSW, BCD. Dr. Dondanville, Ms. Fina, and the Training Initiative team have treated more veterans and service members utilizing these therapies than anyone in the country. Because of their first-hand knowledge of the research and expertise in practice, they have been invited to present workshops at national conferences, training thousands of providers in adapting treatments to the needs of military veterans and service members. No other institution has more expertise in the treatment for combat-related PTSD. The Strong Star Training Initiative is based out of the UT Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas.
