Public Safety Center Dorms VAV Box Replacement

RE-ADVERTISEMENT Sealed proposals will be received by County of Wake in the Procurement Services, Wake County Justice Center, 301 S. McDowell Street, Suite 2900, Raleigh, NC 27601 for providing labor, material and equipment entering into Single Mechanical Prime Contract for the Public Safety Center Dorms VAV Box Replacement (RFB No. 22-086). Sealed Single Prime bids will be received until 2:00 p.m. on December 6, 2022. All bids will be publicly opened and read starting at 2:00 p.m. The general scope is as follows:  Replace 70 dual-duct boxes with hot water coils with 70 single-duct terminal units with hot water heat. Modify the ductwork and pipework to connect to the new terminal units. 60 boxes are located on the service Mezzanines, and 2 boxes are located above the ceiling.  Remove existing Andover DDC controls on dual-duct boxes and install new EcoStructure DDC controls on the new VAV boxes.  Convert the air handling unit AHU-4BP from a hot-deck air handling unit to a VAV air

handling unit. Provide chilled water pipe to the unit. Balance water and air system.  Remove existing Andover DDC controls on AHU-4BP and AHU-4C and install new EcoStruxure controls.  Provide uni-strut bridges crossover existing ductwork for service personnel movement on each of the 5 Mezzanines.  Reinsulate ductwork and pipework on the Mezzanine and above Control Room ceilings on floors 5 through 9.  Replace steam valves to AHU-4B and AHU-4C.  Rebalance chilled water and air systems to AHU-4B and AHU-4C.  Replace chilled water pumps CHWP-8 and CHWP-9.  Remove existing Andover DDC controls on Relief Air Fan RAF-3 with EcoStruxure controls.  Transition the remaining Andover BAS control to EcoStruxure. A Mandatory Pre-bid Conference will be held at 2:00 p.m. local prevailing time on November 29, 2022, meet in the Lobby of the Wake County Public Safety Center, located at 330 South Salisbury Street, Raleigh, NC. All Contractors are to be present.
