  Questions
Submitted DateQuestionAnswer12/16/2020What does the Iowa Department of Public Health like and dislike about its current process? In the response to question #2 in the Round 1 WIC Appointment Reminders Questions and Responses document posted December 9, 2020 the answer clarified that IDPH does not currently provide reminder services and has not in the past.12/16/2020Does the Iowa Department of Public Health have a current means of providing the optional services described on page 20 of the RFP?No. IDPH does not currently provide reminder services and has not in the past.12/17/2020Will the chosen vendor be required to add an "opt-out" link for participants who do not want the reminder service? An opt-out link is expected of the reminder service.12/17/2020Is two-way SMS text messaging a requirement for this program?Secured two-way messaging is listed as an optional service in section 2.02 of the RFP.12/22/2020How does the program manage the consent language or opt-out language? Not applicable. IDPH does not currently provide reminder services and has not in the past.12/22/2020Do the participants grant WIC consent to send them emails, telephone calls, etc.?WIC participants may request in the clinic not to be called by phone, when this is requested the logic which builds the output file does not include that participant’s information in the file IDPH would provide to the vendor. Email messages are not being requested, be sure to carefully review section 2.02 of the RFP for the core and optional services sought.12/22/2020Do the vendor need to provide opt-out language on email or text messages for the participants to unsubscribe?Email messages are not being requested, be sure to carefully review section 2.02 of the RFP for the core and optional services sought. Opt out functionality would only apply to text messaging, as addressed in question #3 above.12/22/2020Does WIC require real-time notifications? This would apply only to the ad-hoc messaging described as an optional service in section 2.02 of the RFP. In regard to ad hoc messages, if opted for, IDPH would prefer the ability to schedule OR send as real-time. For example, a real time message would be preferred if sending a message to notify participants of an unexpected clinic closure.12/22/2020Can calls and texts be initiated from an offshore contact center outside of the United States? No, calls and texts cannot be initiated from an offshore contact center outside of the United States.
