Construct Clinics Over Emergency Room Project #: 506-333 A/E Scope of Work This project will design for a project to construct new space over our existing Emergency Room with the explicit intent to accomplish the following: Project will result in clinical spaces necessary for Woman's Health Primary Care (PACT); Expand Homeless Veteran Outreach Program, Modernize Prosthetics Services in support of service connected, war injured, and all Veterans; Modernize Infrastructure/Improve Timeliness associated with Home Based Dialysis training program as well as the delivery of Dialysis Services (no additional stations being constructed); and complete the Infrastructure Improvements necessary in this portion of the primary 1950 hospital building. Existing Emergency Department was constructed with footing systems, elevator shaft, and stairwell shaft capable of supporting four additional floors. This project will construct 1st floor (Women s Health Clinic), 2nd floor (Homeless
Outreach/Prosthetics), 3rd floor (Home Based Dialysis), 4th floor (mechanical support). 6,000 SF per Floor x 4 Floors = 24,000 SF total. In addition, the A/E shall evaluate the existing structure to determine what structural modification may be necessary to potentially allow for additional floors above the 4th floor. Based on the structural analysis and work/cost necessary to allow for additional floors in the future, this element may be included in the construction documents which the AE shall prepare under this contract. The AE design shall include but not be limited to the following: Layout of the space for the area identified by the VA and any required space changes to adjacent areas as required to support this project. Planning with meetings with VA program included in this project to ensure all anticipated needs are met along with some planning for future growth/program changes (i.e. program flexibility) Changes to electric power in the area to support the new spaces and ancillary systems Changes to the existing HVAC systems, meeting all applicable VA standards, as required to support modifications of the space and addition of this equipment. Changes to controls and control sequences for any existing facility or medical systems which are impacted by this project.
