bridge with span lengths of 52’-0”±, 86’-7”±, and 52’-0”± for a total bridge length of 190’-7”±. The existing out to out superstructure width is 152’-0”±. The 152’-0” of existing bridge deck is divided into three bridge sections, separated by 1” longitudinal joints. The three sections are referred to in the plans as EB bridge, WB bridge and median bridge. The substructure consists of two full cantilever abutments, and two cap and column piers. Maintenance of Traffic for this project will use temporary lane shifts onto the median bridge while the EB and WB concrete bridge decks are removed and replaced. After the EB and WB portions of the project are complete, the median bridge superstructure and portions of substructure will be removed as a part of the project. Additional work includes cleaning/painting the structural steel, milling and paving, removing & replacing the concrete abutment backwall and wing walls, construction of a concrete pier protection wall and wrapping the pier caps with fiber reinforced polymer (FRP).
