NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE – GRUNT COMBAT BOOT (GCB)

NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE – GRUNT COMBAT BOOT (GCB) Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM), Program Manager, Infantry Combat Equipment (PM ICE), is conducting Field User Evaluations (FUE) of a Grunt Combat Boot (GCB).  Attributes of the GCB include lighter weight, faster drying time and a self-cleaning sole.   MARCORSYSCOM intends on awarding a sole source purchase order for 300 pairs of the GCB from Danner Boot Company, which will support three separate FUEs.  The Justification and Statutory Authority for this procurement action is FAR 13.501. Danner Boot Company has the materials and manufacturing skill-sets readily available to make the necessary GCB prototypes.   This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. The determination not to compete this proposed contract action is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered for the purposes of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
