from qualified Applicants to develop a solution that will provide a mobile air quality monitoring system that enables Region of Durham Paramedic Services to collect data on green house gas emissions on emergency vehicles while in-use.The Region recognizes the opportunity of working with businesses of all sizes - including entrepreneurs, small and medium enterprises, and start-ups - to meet the current and emerging needs of the community. The Durham Regional Technology Development Site (Durham RTDS) enables the Region to find businesses to innovate and collaborate with, to achieve solutions that are not just for the municipal sector but built with the municipal sector.The Durham RTDS is funded by Ontario Centre of Innovation (OCI) as part of the Ontario Vehicle Innovation Network (OVIN) program.Outlined in the Envision Durham, Official Plan is Durham Region’s plan to promote improved air quality. The Region strives to reduce GHG emissions, improve air quality, encourage sustainability, and adapt and mitigate impacts of a changing climate. We want to better understand air quality with real-time monitoring on emergency vehicles to make data-informed decisions moving forward.We challenge the business community to provide a mobile air quality monitoring system that enables the Region of Durham Paramedic Services to monitor air quality at high levels of spatial resolution across Durham Region.
