City of Chippewa Falls Street DepartmentJob OpportunityHEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATORThe City of Chippewa Falls is accepting applications for a full-time Heavy Equipment Operator with the Street Department. This position is responsible for building roads, compacting sand and gravel, preparing road surfaces for blacktopping and applying oil seal. This position digs, repairs and maintains open ditches, patches potholes, cleans and levels alley ways and streets and salts, sands, plows and grades roadways. Ability to operate and perform daily maintenance on end loader, rubber tire and steel roller, street sweeper, grader, track backhoe, paver, chip spreader and heavy trucks (over 26,000 G.W.) is needed. Qualifications: High School diploma and 1 to 3 years related experience is required. Applicant must hold a CDL with endorsements and two years experience to include air brakes, tanker and combination vehicle. Wage is $25.22/hr. Work hours include every 2 ndand 4 thSaturday from the second Saturday in April to the second Saturday in November at the Yard Waste site. Availability for Winter street maintenance required.
