High Speed Videoendoscopy and Voice Analysis Software Project Description :Description: The Unversity of Ottawa is pleased to invite qualified proponents to submit a proposal for a High Speed Videoendoscopy and Voice Analysis Software to perform advanced speech and laryngeal assessments. General Description: The general scope of the project is to examine the possible advantages of non-clinical group music education programs for children and olderadults with rehabilitation needs in mental health, voice and speech, cognitive, and motricity domains. The equipement required here will allow to perform advanced speech and laryngeal assessments in a variety of clinical populations to document change over time on voice, articulation and laryngeal parameters, in order to provide scientific evidence for integrating best music education programs into health care. The equipment will capture the true intra-cycle vibratory behavior of vocal folds for accurate objective quantification methods (e.g.,

Automatic Glottal Area Waveform Analysis) that would be impossible with conventional stroboscopic endoscopes in the numerous patients with aperiodic laryngeal vibration. The equipment must consist of a high-speed video laryngoscopy system and audiio, acoustic, electroglottography (EGG), and nasalance systems, including hardware and analysis software. Specifications listed in Appendix A – Technical Specifications Compliance Form of this RFP are the mandatory minimum requirements for the High Speed Videoendoscopy and Voice Analysis Software. Mandatory Minimum Requirements for the High Speed Videoendoscopy and Voice Analysis Software: 1.0 Video laryngoscopy system 1.1 Frame per seconds must be at least 4.000 fps 1.2 At least 8bit 1.3 Light source must use long life LEDs (25.000h, up to 2.300 lumen, 6.500k). 1.4 Weight of the scope must be under 300 g 1.5 Recording time in high speed video must be at least 30 s 1.6 Processing time (saving data) must be less than 3 minutes 1.7 The software must provide an automatic glottal area segmentation and analysis as well as a glottal area waveform 1.8 The proposed equipment must include a rigid laryngoscope. 2.0 Acoustic, electroglottography (EGG), and nasalance systems 2.1 The proposed system must have the ability to perform acoustic, electroglottography (EGG) and nasalance measures. 2.2 Acoustic system must use a Sound Pressure Level (SPL) meter as microphone for voice recording. 2.3 EGG system must have synchronous audio and EGG signal recording systems 2.4 Nasalance measures must be possible and valid during connected speech production 3.0 Warranty, Installation and Training 3.1 The proposed equipment must include 3 years manufacturer’s warranty. 3.2 The proposed equipment must include installation and training. 4.0 Other 4.1 All electrical components must have CSA (Canadian Standards Association) certification, or accepted equivalent as per Electrical Safety Authority Recognized Certification Mark at the following link: https://esasafe.com/electricalproducts/ recognized-certification-marks/ Otherwise, all electrical components must be able to undergo the appliable electrical inspection, and/or, certification, without voiding the system warranty. 4.2 The proposed equipment must be mobile (e.g., medical cart). 4.3 The Video laryngoscopy system must include the computer.
