VT AGENCY OF AGRICULTURE FARM WORKER SUPPORT ASSESSMENT

Farmworkers are especially reluctant to reach out for services surrounding stress and mental health issues for a variety of reasons. There are growing concerns for the mental health of farm workers, both domestic and migrant. Assessment should engage farmers, farmworkers (domestic and migrant) at the farm, or locations that are comfortable to the individual, to discuss issues that contribute to stress, and identify resources, advocacy groups and organizations currently serving this demographic and determine potential barriers to accessing supports. The assessment will be reported to the Agency of Agriculture, Farm First and assembled service providers to determine recommendations for both short-term and longer-term
