The Commissioners Court of Nueces County (hereinafter called the “County”) will accept sealed competitive bids for: Amistad Veterans Memorial Park Improvements in accordance with the Drawings, Specifications, and other Contract Documents prepared by LJA Engineering . The scope of work for the Base Bid consists of the following: The scope of work for the Amistad Veterans Memorial Park project includes parking lot rehabilitation, 7’ wide walking trail and drainage improvements as necessary to ensure positive drainage, minor rehabilitation to existing infrastructure such as veteran pavilion monument foundation, bathroom fixtures, floors and door entrance replacement, shade structure and privacy fence strips at the existing splash pad, playground mulch replacement, new t-ball baseball field package including irrigation line extension and ADA compliance throughout the park, a split rail wood fence for frontage of the property and replacing the existing entrance sign. Additive Bid # 1 (Basketball Court Improvements) consists of the following: The scope of work consists of Mill and Overlay approximately 1,365 square yards of 1.5” HMAC Type D, surface and pavement markings for existing Basketball and other miscellaneous items associated with the work. The scope of work for Additive Bid # 2 (Trash Receptacle, Secondary Gate, Picnic Table and Benches) consists of the following: The scope of work consists of additional work to complement base bid, such as trash receptacle and secondary gate for Tee ball field fence, two additional benches at the concrete pad near basketball court and additional picnic table for shade structure and other miscellaneous items to complete the work. The Contractor shall provide all tools and equipment that are necessary to complete the project in its entirety. All work shall be in accordance with the scope of work. All materials used for the project shall be equal to or better than the existing materials quality. The Contractor will be responsible for removal and disposal of all demolished materials and debris from the work area. The Contractor shall take proper care to avoid unnecessary noise, clatter or obstructions in walkways, sidewalks, and roadways. The Contractor shall not interfere with use or safe passage to and from building and adjacent facilities. Nueces County does not provide project estimated cost, in order to receive the lowest & best bid for our taxpayers. Time is of the essence. Failure to complete the Project within the contract time, except as such time may be extended by delays approved by County, will subject the Bidder to whom the contract is awarded, liability for damages, as provided in the Conditions of the Contract. Nueces County Community Service and Inland Parks Director, Edward Herrera will serve as the contract administrator for this project. Note: The U.S. Department of Treasury will not extend its deadlines. All federally funded work/assignments must be completed and in full use on or before December 31, 2026.
