The Department of Public Works (DPW) at Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) provides for numerous services across the installation such as; Permitting, refuse and recycling, the housing division, environmental division, and building maintenance.The Building Maintenance Division is required to comply with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 (NHPA). It requires federal agencies to consider the effects on historic properties of projects they carry out, assist, fund, permit, license, or approve throughout the country. If a federal or federally-assisted project has the potential to affect historic properties, a Section 106 review will take place.To comply with this requirement, representative structures have been chosen by the Cultural Resource Manager (CMR) in each of the 5 historic districts of JBLM. This contract is to have a historical architect or an architectural conservator take samples of mortar from 15 identified buildings, analyze samples for composition,

strength, and appearance for future repairs and preservation activities.Amendment #001 - issued 5/15/2020.  Makes the following changes to the solicitation:1.
