The Public Health Department (PHD), a department of the County of Santa Clara County, is requesting proposals (RFP) from qualified vendors to develop and implement an innovative referral system to connect pregnant persons to oral health care services during their OB/GYN appointments.

Research has proven that untreated decay and overall poor oral hygiene among pregnant persons ncreases the risk of poor oral health among their children. It is especially important to increase ccess to oral health services today since many dental appointments were delayed as a result of the
COVID-19 pandemic. Vendors will have the opportunity to develop a quality improvement (QI) plan with a goal to launch and sustain a community of practice for stakeholders to regularly discuss and establish referral redesign and improvement.
