Red Hat Licenses to renew licenses

This is not a Request for Quote (RFQ)  – This is a notice of intent.  The Government’s intent to issue a sole source award contract to Red Hat Licenses to renew licenses that is listed on HQ0516018650. The Red Hat Licenses and License Renewals are the operating system for DMA’s LINUX based servers.  Because of this they are designed to run specific programs that DMA uses to run virtual machines and a DISA required program to keep the DMA network able to operate on the NIPRNET.  The Department of Defense (DoD), Defense Media Activity (DMA) intends to award a sole source contract under the statutory authority of FAR 8.405-6(a)(1)(i)(B) ‘Only one source is capable of providing the supplies or services required at the level of quality required because the supplies or services are unique or highly specialized’. DMA intends to issue a sole source contract to Red Hat Licenses 100 East Davis Street Raleigh, NC 27601-2088.  The Government anticipates a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract, plus two

option years. This notice of intent is NOT a request for proposals or quotations.  Requests for copies of a solicitation in response to this notice will not be honored or acknowledged. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Verbal responses are not acceptable and will not be considered. The Government reserves the right to cancel the Sole Source Award. The primary North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 541511 – All Other Miscellaneous Schools and Instruction and the small business size standard is (TBD). This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all responses received within fifteen (15) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
