Olink Explore Protein Samples

The Utah Procurement Code provides that a procurement may be made without competition when the University determines that there is only one source that can reasonably meet the University’s need for the required supply or service, as described in Utah Code Ann. § 63G-6a-802. The Purchasing Department has received the following request for sole source procurement Product and/or Service to be purchased:Olink Explore Protein Samples Sole Source Supplier:Psomagen Earliest Proposed Purchase Date:April 18, 2024 Buyer Name:Jon Pezely Sole Source Justification:In the past 3 years, Kohli lab have worked with Olink and Psomagen directly after going through the bidding process with other vendors. I in collaboration with Dr. Kohli received bids from Olink and Psomagen and Psomagen bid was lowest. Me and Kohli lab will be continuing out work with Psomagen and will be sending samples for the same research that was performed by Kohli lab in the past. They will be using the same equipment and providing the same services that were provided in the past. This is an ongoing experiment which will reference the initial experiment that is done and there is no new technology available for these proteins. We will be sending samples for the same work that was preformed in 2022. We will be sending plasma samples for Olink to use the technology and equipment used the first time to perform research on this validation cohort. In 2022 when doing the initial research, we went through the bidding process. We fount that the Psomagen/Olink services were significantly less in cost than the other vendors that offered similar work. We proceeded with Olink services and were satisfied. We need the current assignment to be completed as the validation of our previously sent discovery work using the same technology since there has been no new technology available for the detection and measurement of the 3000 specific
