JOB POSTINGFull-Time Wastewater Utility-Operator, Maintenance emphasisCity of Whitewater, WIThe facility is located on north edge of the City and has recently undergone an extensive upgrade which includes main control building renovations, replacement of our secondary treatment process and electrical systems.  With this upgrade the utility is planning for decades of high-quality water treatment and service to local and regional residents and businesses.The City of Whitewater Wastewater Utility is seeking an energetic, perceptive, self-motivated and team orientated person to join our staff.  Pride in workmanship, desire for continuing education and strong communication skills are highly valued.  The essential functions of this position include, but is not limited to, corrective and preventative maintenance of utility equipment, laboratory analysis, collection system infrastructure and equipment maintenance, treatment process understanding and the ability to prioritize tasks and
responsibilities using sound judgment and thought processes.    Candidates must have strong computer knowledge and skills.  They should be comfortable working with Microsoft Office suite programs and SCADA interfaces.  We are seeking those that have associate degrees or greater or have record of further supplementary training.  Experience in lieu of education will be considered.  He/she must complete OIT training within 6 months of hire and become certified in all applicable certifications within 2 years. Preferred candidates will have experience in the maintenance and troubleshooting of wastewater utility equipment and its associated processes including electrical and HVAC systems. A valid WI CDL license is necessary along with the ability to periodically lift and carry 50 lbs.  A physical and alcohol/drugs screens are conditions of employment.   Please visit the website for the complete job postingand how to apply.Staff is required to work on a rotating “on call” schedule which includes weekends and holiday hours.   Typical weekend duties total approximately 2.5 hrs./day worked.Salary – The starting salary will be dependent on qualifications.
