Provide a more detailed description and explain the need for the goods, services or grantto\nsupplementtthe response in Part.\n\nA PLC inthe Spruce Unit atLong Creek experienced water damage and needs to be repaired.\n\nSince the PLC is integrated into the security control system, itmakes sense to include this segment\n\nof work in the current upgrade already in progress.\n\n2. Provide a brief justification for the selected vendor to supplement the response in Part.\nReference the RFP number, if applicable.\nJohnson Controls Fire Protection has been under contract with the Department/Long Creek since\nFebruary of 2023 to upgrade our Security Controls System. An amendment was done in May of last\nyear to incorporate the lighting relays which are integrated with the Access Control software which\nenables staff to control lights from the day room screen or the control center. Additional time is\nneeded to complete this task as well as to repairthe damaged PLC in Spruce Unit as noted above.\n\n3. Explain how the negotiated costs or rates are fair and reasonable; or how the funding was\nallocated to grantee.\nThe cost is based on the vendor\u2019s proposal which appears consistent with previous work orders\nreceived by this vendor. Since the vendor is already on site, they were able to offer us discounted\nlabor costs due to them already being mobilized on site which the Department considers fair and\nreasonable.\n\n4.
