Sealed bids will be received for purchase and removal of Timber located on Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Cherry Point, Havelock, North Carolina. Bids will be opened publicly at 11:00 am on September 30, 2021, and read by the Naval Facilities Systems Engineering Command (NAVFACSYSCOM) Real Estate Contracting Officer (RECO), or their designee at the office of the Resident Officer In Charge of Construction (ROICC) MCAS Cherry Point, Bldg. 87, Curtis Rd, Cherry Point, North Carolina, 28533-0006. This is a firm-fixed price lump sum/per unit sale with the option of additional timber being added at unit prices. Inspection of the timber offered for sale and removal is invited and strongly encouraged. Interested parties should contact Steven Shephard, Station Forester, at (252)466-5650.The work includes cutting and harvesting all trees designated for cutting within the sale area as approximately indicated on the plates which are attached to this specification and are a part thereof. The Purchaser (also referred to herein as the "Contractor") will be required to furnish all labor, materials and/or equipment necessary for the completion of the Contract including loading, removal and subsequent ownership. The exact location will be determined by the RECO. The plates are the property of the Government and shall not be reproduced or used for any purpose other than that contemplated by this specification. The operable area for timber harvesting comprises an approximate total area of 164 acres as generally shown on the attached map. CLEARCUT, 164 acres. All merchantable timber within these areas will be cut, with a priority on Area 1 (see attached map). Wetland areas will be flagged with pink wetland boundary flagging.
