Community Service <(>&<)> Health Directorate City Health Departement Specialised Health Section Supply and delivery to the Mechanical Engineering Unit situated at 5 Molteno Street, Vasco of a Type 1 Impulse Integrating Sound Level Meter complying to IEC 61672-1 :2013 including training on the use thereof. NB! The Sound Level Meter must have all features and options as described below and must be supplied with a SANAS certificate of cal ibration from an
accredited SANAS laboratory for sound and vibration measurement. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS and SPECIFICATIONS for the Sound level meter. 1. The Sound level meter must comply with the IEC 61672-1: 2013 class 1 and IEC 61260-1: 2014 class 1 standard. The sound level meter shall have the necessary TYPE approval in the country of manufacture and is approved for certification by a SANAS accredited laboratory for acoustics in South Africa. 2. The Sound Level Meter shall measure <(>&<)> record LAp, LAIeq , LAeq , Lmin <(>&<)> Lmax and Percentiles measurements simultaneously and reproduce these on a computer for further analysis. In other words, while viewing and/or recording one measurement, it should measure and record all of the other readings. 3. The Sound Leve Meter must have 1/3 Octave Real Time Analyser with live display. 1/3 Octave spectra bands shall be clearly visible and there must be a facility to highlight a particular band to get a measurement reading at the point of interest. 4. Have its own high contrast Large LCD colour display, minimum dimensions 70 x 50 mm, with high resolution that must be clearly visible in broad daylight for easy on-site readings. It must also have good backlighting for nighttime use. 5. Easy viewing of collected data on suppliers proprietary software or on a spreadsheet program e.g. MS Excel is essential. 6. There must be a LAN port for easy connection to internet for remote monitoring . 7. With waveform recording it shall have the capability of true uncompressed waveform recording of reasonable duration, allowing both the sound pressure levels and the actual sound to be recorded for post processing. Waveform Recording Option needs to be supplied in this offer. 8. Programmable to data-log "Time History" information of sound levels over a preset measuring interval. Features such as programmable start end times and autostore and manual store must be available. 9. The sound level meter must be able to measure and display measurements simultaneously in A, C, Z (Flat) and Fast, Slow and Impulse weighting on multiple channels / sub channels / display panels. 10. Supplied with on board and extended memory such as SD or CF cards. 11. Have a USB port for data transfer to a PC and come standard with data transfer software. Ease of data transfer will be considered very important. 12. Battery run time must be at least 16 Hours on a set of Alkaline batteries and must have be capable of being powered via USB port with a standard power bank for extended periods of several days. 13. The measuring range shall be 30dB to 140dB(A) RMS or greater and the noise floor of less than 20 dB on A weighting scale. 14. The dynamic range of the noise monitor on a single range setting shall be 100 dB or greater in both SLM mode and RTA mode. 15. The calibration history while using an acoustic calibrator must be recorded and be viewed on the instrument when required. TECHNICAL SUPPORT Only offers that are locally supported, in the RSA, by competent technical personnel shall be considered. If resellers make offers, they must show links to an officially appointed South African distributor of the product. Training for a period of at least one day is essential and must be included. CALIBRATION REQUIREMENTS All the noise measuring instruments supplied shall be sent for calibration to a SANAS accredited laboratory. The certificates of cal ibration must be issued in the name of End User: City of Cape Town, Health Department , Specialised Services.
