The work includes conversion of the existing Dry Dock restaurant into a full service catering kitchen, including but not limited to: demolition of existing finishes, equipment, services, and non-load bearing partitions, complete replacement of HVAC system and controls in area of work, electrical replacement and modification in area of work, miscellaneous hazardous material abatement, fire alarm modification and repairs, fire suppression system installation, structural floor slab trenching and modification, extensive interior architectural modifications and improvements in area of work, plumbing system modifications and improvements, relocation and set up of equipment and supporting infrastructure from temporary spaces, excavation for connection to HP gas line and domestic water line, other incidental related work, as shown in drawings. The work is located at the United States Naval Academy. Building(s) will be occupied during performance of work under this Contract. The requirement
was solicited as a sole source to Bristol Prime Contractors N4008023R0002 to renovate kitchen spaces in Dahlgren Hall, BLDG 103, located at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. This project requires the contractor to furnish all labor, management, supervision, materials, transportation, service and equipment necessary for, and incidental to, all designated work. All work must be in conformance with all applicable referenced criteria, construction standards, laws and regulations, including applicable building fire and life safety codes, service and equipment necessary for, and incidental to, all designated work. Market research was conducted and it was determined that Bristol Prime Contractors, LLC (Bristol), an 8(a), ANC small business represented the best option to perform this requirement. Bristol is capable of performing the required work based on a review of their capabilities statement and follow up discussions. Due to the estimated value, timeline and nature of this project, a sole source to an 8(a) small business represents the best to option to meet the needs of the government and NAVFAC’s Small Business Goals. Bristol has extensive construction experience, and has favorable past performance on high visibility projects on USNA.
