Government-wide Strategic Solutions for Desktops and Laptops

The Transportation Security Administration is issuing this Request for Information (RFI) as part of the Government-wide Strategic Solutions for Desktops and Laptops, initiated by the Office of Information Technology (OIT)The goal of this RFI is to share the technical refresh and updated specifications for the laptops and desktops and to identify vendors that offer laptops, desktops and peripherals that meet these specifications of TSA's standard configurations, and would like to participate in this initiative.1. BackgroundThe TSA is a counter-terror organization that is responsible for protecting the nation's transportation systems to ensure freedom of movement for people and commerce. The workforce of TSA is charge with a range of duties to accomplish the mission. The Office of Information Technology provides the TSA workforce with a range of IT solutions such as laptops, desktops and peripherals to better perform their assignments effectively and efficiently.2. ObjectiveTSA intends

to establish a contract vehicle for interagency buyers to procure tested and approved IT products using TSA's IT configurations.3. Vendor ParticipationTSA will review all responses to this Request For Information to ensure the responding vendors' submissions meet the specifications, and subsequently identify all vendors that are capable of offering the standard laptops, desktops, peripherals and accessories to buyers.To participate in this initiative, vendors must be able to either manufacture or procure the IT equipment as specified in Attachment I unless the stated specification is not commercially available and noted in this response.While TSA encourages and welcomes your participation in this initiative, it is voluntary for vendors. TSA reserves the right to remove participating vendors from the initiative for failure to continue offering identified laptops and/or desktops configurations.NOTE: This RFI should not be construed as a solicitation/RFP/RFQ for a government requirement or as a commitment by the U.
