Project components include the following: • Removing a filled causeway section of Bay Road SW, along with underlying soils and
sheet pile metal walls supporting the road, along the northeast shoreline of Whiteman Cove • Excavation to create an open tidal channel at the location of the historical tidal channel connecting Whiteman Cove with Case Inlet • Demolition of two existing water control structures (tide gates) and culverts with associated fencing, creosote walls, and structures • Demolition of two creosote-treated timber walls and replacement with rock shoreline stabilization • Installing ground improvements and stabilized earth wall foundation • Constructing a new single-span, 100-foot span bridge across the tidal channel to maintain vehicle access to the YMCA Camp Colman via Bay Road SW • Installing riprap scour and erosion protection • Realigning adjacent portions of Bay Road SW to connect to the new bridge • Elevating a portion of Bay Road SW along the northwest shoreline of Whiteman Cove, between the new bridge and YMCA Camp Colman • Restoring and replanting portions of the new tidal channel shoreline, Bay Road SW fringe, and areas disturbed during construction with native plant species
