Closing Date: September 22, 2017 Description: REQUEST FOR BIDS METROPOLITAN PARK DISTRICT OF TACOMA SEAWATER SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS BID #J2017-15 BID NOTICE The Metropolitan Park District of Tacoma will receive sealed bids for Bid #J2017-15, Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium, Seawater System Improvements, at the office of Planning, Design & Development, Metropolitan Park District of Tacoma, Attn: Tammy Maines, 4702 S 19th Street, Tacoma WA 98405, until 9 A.M., September 22, 2017. Bids will be opened and publicly read aloud at 10 A.M. Bids received after the appointed time set for receipt will be returned unopened. The project includes, but is not limited to: Base Bid: Project work includes construction of a new concrete structure located on the promenade at Point Defiance Park adjacent to existing roundhouse structure. Work includes utilities (electric, water, sanitary sewer) to the new structure and connections to the existing seawater supply systems for the Point Defiance Zoo &

Aquarium. Work also includes the installation of new seawater supply lines installed via horizontal directional drilling. Prevailing Wage Rates and the Metro Parks Tacoma Apprenticeship Training Program requirements will apply. 819 apprentice hours are estimated for the base work of this project Minority & Women Owned Enterprises (MWBE) participation will apply.
