This solicitation is being issued as Request for Quote (RFQ).  Written quotes are being requested.  This is a solicitation for non-commercial services prepared in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures as supplemented and FAR Part 36 Construction and Architect-Engineer Contracts with additional information included in this notice.  This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested.  This is a solicitation from the United States Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Eastern Acquisition Division-Kansas City (EAD-KC), 601 East 12th Street, Room 1734, Kansas City, MO 64106. Contractor shall provide all materials, labor, equipment and supervision to complete removal of the existing roof and the installation of a new roof at the Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory, Lake Michigan Field Station (Building 1) located in Muskegon, MI. 1.     DESCRIPTION OF WORK: 1.     1. Conduct pre
bid site visit to verify dimensions, site conditions, etc.2. Tear off all layers of roofing down to wood deck and haul away debris3. Repair/Replace any wood decking if required4. Install underlayment felt5. Install ice shield 6 feet up on all eaves of roof6. Install shingles7. Install new drip edging on all edges of roof.8. Install AR cottage red laminated shingles to all peaks and ridge vents9. Install in all aluminum step flashing on all walls10. Install in all valleys ice shields11. Install new flashing boots on all pipes12. Re-flash chimney at the base13.  Repair or replace missing vinyl siding on the north and back side of the building.14.
