ADA-09185 Proposal to Amend a State Airport Land Lease at Birchwood Airport

The Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities proposes to add the Proposed Lease Area to the lease premises for the proposed authorized use of vehicle parking and snow storage, add to the authorized uses and amend other terms of Lease ADA-09185, Lot 20A, Block 100, currently consisting of approximately 42,000 square feet, at Birchwood Airport. Applicant: 70 North LLC. Current Annual rent: $7378.00. Current and Proposed Authorized uses: Aeronautical – Operation and maintenance of a hangar for flight training; private aircraft storage; tie-down rentals; air taxi operation; air freight; related vehicle parking; construction and maintenance of an approximate 3900 square foot hangar addition and a 4-unit complex of approximately 1800 square foot individual hangars; and to use and maintain Group 1 and smaller Group 2 aircraft within the existing lease lot.Competing applications for the Proposed Lease Area (approximately 20,000 square feet of land as shown on the attachment), and/or written comments on the proposal to amend the lease must be received by 4:30 p.m., July 17, 2023, after which the Department will determine whether or not to amend the lease.
