Mechanic OpeningVillage of McFarland, WIThe Village of McFarland has an immediate opening for Mechanic in the Public Works department. The Mechanic will be responsible for providing performance of semi-skilled, skilled, and administrative work in maintaining the vehicles and mechanical equipment of the Public Works Department and various other Village departments. The work includes preventative maintenance, servicing, and repair of a wide variety of motor vehicles, construction equipment, and small engine equipment. Work also involves performing routine maintenance of building mechanical systems including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing. On occasion, the position is also required to perform the same tasks assigned to a Public Works Crewperson, including snow plowing. Graduation from high school or GED equivalency and completion of a full-time training program in automotive or diesel mechanics is required, supplemented by three to five years of related experience. Starting pay range is $26.55/hour to $33.65/hour (depending on qualifications) with an excellent benefit package, including health insurance, participation in Wisconsin Retirement System, ample paid time off and much more.
