The RFP is an invitation to submit offers for the Supply and Install of a High-throughput, Microfluidics-Based Protein Characterization System, as further described herein. Biotherapeutics, typified by monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) targeting protein kinases or immune checkpoints, have demonstrated exceptional efficacies on many diseases. Our goal is to obtain a singular system that will rapidly characterize proteins identified as potential biotherapeutics from 24-, 96- and 384-well plates, using a multi-assay-approach to obtain concentrations, molecular weights and quantify sample purity. The proposed instrumentation will be integrated into the multi-user Western Biotherapeutics Centre in the Department of Biochemistry at Western. This brand new research core will enable us to discover and develop first-in-class therapeutic mAbs and biologics. This new system will provide researchers with cutting-edge technology to obtain precise and accurate information about proteins, and digitally facilitate format to review, export, and archiving the data.
