Portable Additive Manufacturing Systems

The Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Expeditionary Program Office (ExPO), in partnership with the NSWC Indian Head Division (NSWC IHD) D Department is tasked with informing the requirements and procurement strategy for a portable additive manufacturing system to support the Navy Expeditionary Combat Enterprise efforts in expeditionary part fabrication. The Government is investigating the feasibility of utilizing commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) and/or government-off-the-shelf (GOTS) additive manufacturing technologies in expeditionary operating environments to produce functional parts and training aids. This RFI will assist the Navy in developing the design and capability requirements of a portable additive manufacturing system for the Navy Expeditionary Combat Force (NECF).
