QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent, two (2) years' experience in Water Distribution, Wastewater Treatment, and/or Industrial Pretreatment or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
Licensing, Certification, and Other Requirements: ADEQ Grade 1 Water Distribution System Operator and Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator certifications are preferred or both must be obtained within one (1) year of hire. Both Grade II certifications must be obtained within 18 months of obtaining each Grade 1, or Grade II certifications must be obtained within one (1) year if hired with each Grade 1.
Must possess or obtain within one (1) year of hire a Backflow Assembly General Tester Certification.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Provide customer service to both internal and external customers.
Create and present educational materials to members of the public, commercial and residential customers.
Respond to inquiries, complaints and requests for information from public and private entities.
Enforce regulations, policies, and procedures.
Review building plans and perform site inspections for compliance with City Code.
Recommend, and draft enforcement actions.
Maintain a database of backflow prevention assemblies, testing companies and test reports utilizing the City's computer maintenance management system.
Install, test, and repair backflow prevention assemblies.
Communicate with regulatory agencies.
Assist the Water Protection Specialist with the City's pretreatment program requirements.
Develop and implement optimization efforts to streamline and enhance operational effectiveness and efficiency.
Perform other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
