BackgroundThe Corporation of the City of Mississauga (the “City”) invites proposals from qualified multidisciplinary consulting firms to undertake an Arena Provision Study.The goal of this project is to inform the provision of indoor arenas in Mississauga. The Consultant will be required to conduct a thorough review of the utilization and participation of Mississauga’s 13 Indoor Arenas (25 ice pads). Should utilization rates align with pre-pandemic levels or continue to decline, the study should provide direction on the feasibility of decommissioning an ice pad(s) or arena(s). In addition, a review of the existing utilization and participation levels of all indoor gymnasiums and indoor artificial turf fields is required to analyze if either of these amenities should replace any iceBrief Scope of WorkAn Arena Provision Study will be developed to provide strategic direction in both the short and long term. and Participation AnalysisTrends and Demographic ShiftsBenchmarkingMarket AssessmentInternal and External EngagementRecommendationsThe Provision Study will also recommend: Decommissioning one(1) or more Ice pads, if applicable;Repurposing Ice Pads for alternate use, if applicable;Long Term recommendations on future Arena needs;Long Term recommendations on future Indoor Artificial and Gymnasium needsProject BudgetA budget of up to $80,000 in Canadian funds is allocated towards the Arena Provision plan. This amount is anticipated to cover the goals, objectives, deliverables and the scope of each of the projects as outlined in the Request for Proposal.Project TimelineThe project is expected to commence in May 2024 and conclude in December 2024.
