A site visit is scheduled for 12 June 2018 at 10:00 a.m. (CDT).Contractors interested in seeing the site need to make reservation with Mike Welch by e-mail at Michael.V.Welch@usace.army.mil or phone (605) 760-3041.This solicitation is RESTRICTED TO SMALL BUSINESS PARTICIPATION.Description:This is a non-personal services contract to provide nondestructive testing, paint removal and touchup painting on the Gavins Point Dam Spillway Gates. The intent of this contract is to more accurately determine sizes and locations of previously reported flaws in the Spillway Gates at Gavins Point Dam. NDT methods will include visual inspection, shear wave ultrasound, phased array ultrasound, magnetic particle testing, and dye penetrant testing. Work will also use phased array ultrasound to measure extent of loss due to corrosion of steel plates where plates are embedded in concrete. Testing will require removal of vinyl paint at the locations to be
tested and re-coating with a vinyl paint system. Work will be on the downstream side of the gates with the gates closed. Shielding of work areas from gate seal leakage may be required. Access to the locations to be tested will require temporary work platforms or other special access methods. The government shall not exercise any supervision or control over the contract service providers performing the services herein. Such contract service providers shall be accountable solely to the contractor who, in turn is responsible to the government.
