NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT NAVSUP Fleet Logistic Center San Diego intends to award a sole source contract to Physics Applications Inc. (OEM) to provide two new launch tubes to augment the current 0.5 single stage launcher setup. Naval Postgraduate School will be required to launch cubic samples of 9mm and 15mm dimensions, which exceed its existing launch tube size. The authority for soliciting a single source under simplified acquisition procedures is FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), Soliciting Competition, which states that contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available (e.g., urgency, exclusive licensing agreements, brand-name or industrial mobilization). See Note 22. This Notice of Intent is not a request for quotation. No solicitation or RFQ will be forthcoming. Interested parties may identify their interest and submit product information in response to this notice by 25 July 2023. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract is entirely at the discretion of the Government. NOTE 22: The proposed contract action is for an annual software maintenance for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received by the closed date specified herein will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
