The National Science Foundation (NSF) intends to make an award to Contegix, LLC  for NNCO Drupal website Hosting servicesThe NNCO maintains the nano.gov website, the official website of the United States National Nanotechnology Initiative (NNI). This website is the primary public interface for the NNI and is one of the top five percent of .gov websites by pageviews. The standard of performance for the nano.gov website is therefore very high. The website currently runs on the Drupal platform and, consistent with the federal government’s Cloud First policy, nano.gov has been hosted by a FedRamp-certified cloud services provider since 2015.1. As previous research indicated, Contegix offers slightly lower/comparable market price costs in addition to greater service and performance than its FedRamp-certified competitors. A move of nano.gov website, with 70 GB of data and associated custom modules, would introduce the potential for loss of website function with no cost savings. In addition,

the migration would be cost- and time-ineffective due to migration and set up. 2.  Contegix, LLC currently hosts the nano.gov website through a contract 49100419P0038. The contractor supports the technical and administrative functions of nano.gov. Contegix, LLC was chosen following an extensive search of vendors with appropriate expertise and offered software updates, security, backups, and Drupal assistance at an equal level with other vendors. The vendor offers Drupal support up to NNCO’s custom code and a complete Drupal hosting solution, which includes the option to request additional services, emergency module updating, installation, troubleshooting, and back-end changes. In addition, the contractor distinguishes itself by offering the following:A fully managed cloud server and services, minimizing support costs within the NNCO; using Amazon Web Services would require additional contractor support to maintain the websiteFedRamp Certification;Unlimited 24/7/365 phone and email supportGuaranteed 99.99% Network Uptime on highly available architecturesGuaranteed 99.95% Network Uptime on non-highly available architecture3.  Nano.gov is the official website of the United States National Nanotechnology Initiative (NNI) and is in the top five percent of the .gov websites by pageviews. As the public face of the NNI, it is imperative that nano.gov continue to offer uninterrupted service at the same high standard of performance that has been delivered over the past three years – 99.99% uptime guaranteed and delivered. It is impractical to risk disruption to this service when there are no expected cost or effort savings.The period of performance will be:Base: October 01, 2020 – September 30, 2021Option 1: October 01, 2021 – September 30, 2022Option 2: October 01, 2022 – September 30, 2023Option 3: October 01, 2023 – September 30, 2024The proposed contract action is for services for which the government intends to sponsor with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106.
