Notice of Intent: The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic andAtmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Weather Service (NWS), NationalReconditioning Center (NRC) intends to send out for repair the following equipment: 25each SWITCH, WAVEGUIDE; SECTOR (53263) SM2-641, (56232) 1213657-201,ASN: R400-1S1/101. The intended acquisition is for repair services to furnish labor andmaterial to place in like new operating condition and good appearance to meet theoriginal manufacturer’s specifications and/or tolerances of the equipment listed above.After repair, if the equipment does not meet these conditions, it will be returned to thevendor for rework at no additional cost to the government. The intended acquisition isfor the repair services for which the Government intends to acquire from one sourceunder the authority of 13.106-1(b), Soliciting from a Single Source. The only knownsource is Sector Microwave Industries, Deer Park, NY the original equipmentmanufacturer. This is
not a request for proposals and there is no solicitation available atthis time. The Government reserves the right to solicit bids based on receipt ofaffirmative responses to this notice or issue a purchase order to Sector MicrowaveIndustries, whichever is determined to be more advantageous to the Government, withoutfurther notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contractbased upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determiningwhether to conduct a competitive procurement for this requirement and future repairs. Inorder to be considered, firms must furnish detailed information concerning theircapability to repair the equipment. This acquisition is being processed under theprocedures of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13, Simplified AcquisitionProcedures. Interested firms should submit its name, address, point of contact, telephonenumber and a brief statement regarding its capability to repair the specified equipment.Also include the name, telephone number and point of contact for businesses or otherGovernment agency to which it has previously repaired the items. Firms must respond tothis announcement within seven (7) calendar day of its publication. All responses must bein writing and may be mailed to the National Reconditioning Center, ATTN: WilliamRoberts, 14200 Merritt Rd, Grandview, Missouri 64030 or sent to the email
addressnws.nrc.contracts@noaa.gov. All responsible sources may submit a quote which will beconsidered by the Agency. The quote shall include the repair cost for each piece ofequipment, return shipping, if applicable, and estimated delivery schedule. The NAICScode for this requirement is 811210.
