Lower Clyde River Floodplain Mapping Project Description :The Mississippi Valley Conservation Authority (MVCA) is requesting proposals from qualified consultants to develop a hydraulic model and regulatory floodplain mapping of the Lower Clyde River to be used in the regulatory review process. The Lower Clyde River, located in eastern Ontario, will be modelled and mapped starting at the outflow from Joes Lake, just upstream of the Black Creek Road bridge (approximately 45°8'3.16"N, 76°37'49.02"W) and ending at the confluence with the Mississippi River, approximately 3 km south of the Village of Lanark (approximately 44°59'19.75"N, 76°22'6.39"W). This reach has a length of approximately 45 km and a drainage area of 371 km2. There are 16 water crossing structures (including 1 dam), and 1 bypass channel along this stretch of the river. The regulatory flood hazard standard for the Lower Clyde River is the regional flood produced by the 100-year flood event. As required within the funding agreement, the 1D hydraulic model, modelling report, and floodplain mapping shall conform to the technical requirements outlined by FHIMP, which are provided in detail in the RFP
