room, technology closet, and adding a shower to an existing restroom. Phase 2– Renovating approximately 2,000 SF of living quarters, restrooms, kitchen, office and day room. There is some minor site work including a CMU privacy wall and underground storm water pipe. Bid packages with specific details will be available, digitally. MINORITY AND FEMALE OWNED BUSINESS ENTERPRISE PARTICIPATION (MFBE) It is the intent of the City of Statesboro to encourage participation by minority and female owned business enterprises (MFBE) for all procurement processes. The construction phase of this project shall include a minimum 20% minority and/or female business enterprise (MFBE) participation of total construction cost. This may be accomplished by a minority business enterprise (MBE), female business enterprise (FBE), or a combination of MFBE including general contractors, subcontractors, and material suppliers. All submittals for this invitation to bid must include a statement acknowledging compliance with 20% MFBE requirement at time for submittal of sealed bids. Upon submittal of sealed bids, pre-qualified contractors will be required to provide proof of MFBE certification (if the general/prime contractor is a certified MFBE) or provide a list of MFBE sub-contractors, identify percentage of participation by each subcontractor and proof of minority or female owned business certification for proof of compliance with this section requirement.
