Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Northern Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:
APPLICANT: Darell Tweet dba NB Tweet & Sons LLC
PROJECT NAME: LAS 33723
GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: From Trinity Camp located on Mineral Survey (MS) 2507 across state land to MS 2490 near Kougarok River.  See attached map. LEGAL DESCRIPTION:
Sections 22, 27, 33, and 34 of Township 4 North, Range 30 West, Kateel River Meridian.
Sections 4, 5, 8, 9, 13-16 of Township 3 North, Range 30 West, Kateel River Meridian.REQUESTED ACTIVITY: The Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Division of Mining, Land, and Water (DMLW) has received a land use permit application from Darell Tweet for winter cross-country travel.  The applicant proposes to move 10 buildings from Trinity Camp (located on MS 2507) to a new camp location on MS 2490. The move will occur
after freeze-up (roughly 11/1/21) and before break-up (roughly 5/15/22) over a period of five years. The route will follow well-established, existing trails originating at Trinity Camp, proceeding south and around the head of Homestake Creek, and finally east to its destination at MS 2490. Two frozen stream crossings will occur on MS 2490 near the end of the trip. The one-way trip is approximately 12 miles. Timeframe is within next five years but may be completed sooner.
The move will use Cats to pull sleds carrying the buildings. The off-road travel will be limited to times when and where ground frost and snow cover are adequate to prevent damage to the underlying vegetation. No fuel or hazardous materials will be used for the project. The route occurs entirely over state land and USMS 2490 and 2507. PROPOSED DATES OF USE:
5-year term: 2021-2026

To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at 3700 Airport Way, Fairbanks, AK  99709 on or before 5:00 p.m. on the date noted above.
