PUD owns and operates thirteen (13) dams that impound reservoirs used for water supply. These dams are under the jurisdiction of the California Department of Water Resources, Division of Safety of Dams (DSOD). Each dam has a unique system of outlet works and spillway components to control the reservoir water levels and to safely release water during severe storm events or impending dam failure.
